Doja Cat slammed for ‘terrible’ Oscars performance as fans call her James Bond tribute ‘out of tune’

OSCARS viewers are slamming Doja Cat for sounding ‘out of tune’ during an ‘off-key’ performance that paid tribute to the James Bond franchise.

The rapper was joined by singer Raye and Lisa of K-pop group Blackpink to perform a medley of songs that celebrated the James Bond cinematic universe.

Halle Berry, 58, introduced the musical tribute to everybody’s “favorite spy” James Bond and its producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson.

Doja Cat, 29, took on Diamonds are Forever, originally sung by Shirley Bassey in the 1971 Bond movie starring Sean Connery.

Lisa then performed Live and Let Die, originally sang by the rock band Wings from the 1973 film.

Raye rounded out the trio as she sang Skyfall – which Adele famously recorded for the Daniel Craig installment in 2012.

The preamble to the performance showcased a surprise dance number from Margaret Qualley to the movie’s famous 007 theme song.

She wore a red satin dress as she twirled around on stage with dozens of men in sharp black suits.

However, fans were not impressed by the vocalists and backlash began to spread immediately after their performance.

“Doja Cat that was actually a horrible vocal performance what the f**k were you thinking?” one critic asked.

“Doja Cat does not have the vocal range to do that song justice tbh,” another said.

“Weird #JamesBond tribute…Doja Cat…you ain’t Shirley Bassey…where are Adele and Billie Eilish to sing their songs??? This actually awful…” a third wrote.

“Oh doja…let’s get some singing lessons,” an X user begged.

While one more demanded: “Doja, don’t ever do that s**t again girl.”

The Oscars number was hyped up leading to the big event – with Academy president Janet Yang praising the performance on the red carpet Sunday night.

When asked about the performance, she said: “It’s going to be one of the highlights of the show.

“And we feel so lucky that we are able to do this within news of what is happening.”

For the performance, Doja stunned in a sheer beige gown that was draped with rows of crystals that webbed over the fabric.

However, she wore another glam outfit when she first arrived on the red carpet this afternoon.

The Say So rapper wore a custom-made leopard print mermaid gown designed by Olivier Rousteing.

The design is inspired by a near-identical Pierre Balmain piece from 1953.

According to Vogue, the gown required 7,100 hours of manual labor and a team of 46 artisans to create.
