Matthew Broderick never appeared on ‘Sex and the City’
While Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker aren’t against working together, the Ferris Bueller’s Day Off actor never appeared in Sex and the City. Broderick addressed the reason behind his absence from the iconic series in a recent appearance on This Life of Mine, a Sirius XM show hosted by James Corden.
Broderick told Corden that he was approached about Sex and the City several times over the years. Each time a role he could play presented itself, he was unable to make time to appear on set. He went on to say there were some parts he passed on because it would have been “embarrassing,” like the short story writer who battled with premature ejaculation that Carrie Bradshaw briefly dated. Justin Theroux took on the role that Broderick referenced.

Matthew Broderick insists timing kept him away from Sex and the City. Does that mean he could appear in And Just Like That…, the show’s reboot? It seems unlikely. The famed actor isn’t opposed to the idea. Still, it hasn’t happened yet.
And Just Like That… season 3 is still being filmed on the streets of New York City. Still, the cast is getting extremely close to wrapping production. Fans haven’t spotted Broderick on set. He doesn’t appear to have any role in the show’s upcoming third season. It is unclear if Max will order a season 4. It seems like Broderick is more than happy to stay away, ensuring Parker’s iconic role as Carrie Bradshaw is all about her instead of her famous marriage.
Season 3 of And Just Like That… doesn’t have a release date just yet. Despite the end of filming looming, it will be months before fans reconnect with Carrie Bradshaw and her pals again. Max has revealed that season 3 will get a 2025 release.
