Hollywood glitz meets ballroom glamour as Dancing with the Stars‘ celebrities and pros show off their dance skills to iconic songs from Oscar-nominated films. But it will also be the end of the road for two couples as season 33 kicks off its first shocking double elimination.
Oscars Night features legendary songs and ballroom dance staples
Dancing with the Stars Oscars Night will feature an opening number called “Hooray for Hollywood,” choreographed by pros Britt Stewart and Alan Bersten. Following, the celebrities will take to the ballroom floor and try to impress the judges with their growing skills as they interpret legendary movie tunes via traditional ballroom dances.
Danny Amendola and Witney Carson will perform a Jive to “Danger Zone” by Kenny Loggins. Anna Delvey and Ezra Sosa will dance Quickstep to “Suddenly I See” by KT Tunstall.
Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson will Rumba to “Shallow” by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. Dwight Howard and Daniella Karagach will perform Foxtrot to “City Of Stars” by Ryan Gosling.
Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong Rumba to “What Was I Made For?” by Billie Eilish. Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten Salsa to “(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life” by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes.
Brooks Nader and Gleb Savchenko Quickstep to “9 to 5” by Dolly Parton. Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold will perform a Paso Doble to “Superman – Main Theme” by The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.
Phaedra Parks and Val Chmerkovskiy dance a Foxtrot to “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” by Jennifer Hudson. Eric Roberts and Britt Stewart sway to “The Godfather Waltz” by Nino Rota and Carlo Savina.
Tori Spelling and Pasha Pashkov Rumba to “This Is Me” by Keala Settle and The Greatest Showman Ensemble. Jenn Tran and Sasha Farber Tango to “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody (All We Got)” by Fergie, Q-Tip, and GoonRock. Finally, Reginald VelJohnson and Emma Slater Paso Doble to “Ode To Joy” by Beethoven.
Who’s currently at the top of the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ leaderboard?
Season 33’s celebrities set the current leaderboard during week one of Dancing with the Stars. Judges’ scores from the first week will be added to week two’s tallies. Viewer votes are added, and these scores will determine who goes home in the second week of the competition.
Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong, who scored 23, are at the top of the current leaderboard. They are followed by Dwight Howard and Daniella Karagach, who scored 22, Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson, and Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold, who scored 21.
Phaedra Parks, Val Chmerkovskiy, Jenn Tran, and Sasha Farber are tied with a score of 19. All with a score of 18 are Anna Delvey and Ezra Sosa, Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten, and Brooks Nader and Gleb Savchenko.
At the bottom of the leaderboard are Tori Spelling and Pasha Pashkov, who have 17; Reginald VelJohnson and Emma Slater, who have 16; and Eric Roberts and Britt Stewart, who have 15.
How can fans vote for their ‘Dancing with the Stars’ favorites?
Fans can vote for their favorite couples during the live simulcast of the episode by visiting dwtsvote.abc.com. Voting is available to fans in any time zone in the U.S. and Canada.
Voting is also available by texting 21523 and the celebrity’s name. Each celebrity can receive up to 10 votes per text.
Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough co-host the series. Judges are ballroom experts Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough.
Dancing with the Stars Oscars Night begins Tuesday, Sept. 24. The series airs live from 8:00 to 10:01 p.m. ET, simulcasting LIVE across ABC and Disney+ in local time zones and the next day on Hulu.
