WAYNE Rooney once turned down the chance to meet Jay-Z because he was too hungover.
The superstar rapper, 53, asked to meet the former England player backstage at Glastonbury in 2011 but “delicate” Wayne, 38, said he couldn’t be bothered.

Coleen, 37, revealed the mortifying incident likely scuppered her chances of meeting Jay’s superstar wife Beyonce, 42, who was headlining the festival.
Speaking to Vernon Kay on tomorrow’s edition of Tracks Of My Years on Radio 2, she said: “We got to the Sunday, we’d been there since the Thursday, and we were fortunate to have a connection to get side of stage.
“So we went over – well I say we, me and the girls – because Wayne was a bit delicate by the Sunday and wasn’t in any mood to be walking over to the main stage at this point.
“So I went over with the girls and he said he’d follow us over.

“We were in a seated area backstage and Jay-Z comes over and he says, ‘Nice to meet you. Where’s your husband?’
“I was like, ‘He’s coming over in a minute’.
“So I got on the phone and I was like ‘You need to get over here now,’ and he went, ‘I can’t be bothered’.

“I was like, ‘No, you need to come over’. He went, ‘I don’t think I can’.
“I was like, ‘No please, it’s our only chance to get to meet Beyonce. You need to be here’.
“I never met her. I met Jay-Z and he was lovely.”
She added: “He regretted it but we had a great time.
“It was the next morning, he was like, ‘Oh I do regret not going over’.”
To make matters worse, snaps taken during the festival were projected behind Beyonce during the performance, including one of Wayne enjoying himself earlier in the weekend.
Coleen admitted it isn’t the only time he has embarrassed himself in front of a musician.
Speaking about meeting Lewis Capaldi, 27, backstage at a gig in the US, she said: “Wayne started belting out one of his songs but got the words wrong.
“He was like, ‘I can’t believe I’ve done that’.
“It was one word that he sang wrong and they all started laughing.”
