BASS music stars, long-time pals, collaborators and Circus Records co-founders Doctor P and Flux Pavilion have finally dropped their first full-length joint album after weeks of endless teasing.
From shaping Circus Records into one of the most respected labels in bass music, to lighting up global stages from Glastonbury to Coachella, their influence runs deep.

Together, they’ve collaborated with legends like Method Man, Dillon Francis, and Zeds Dead, and mentored countless new talents while keeping their own creativity fresh and evolving.
The landmark long player was over 20 years in the making and delivers a genre bending, bass odyssey, combining cinematic elements with the bass heavy energy they are known for with chaotic breakdowns, disco nightmares, and playful sonic experiments.

Doctor P & Flux Pavilion – The Album
“We’ve been working together on music for over 20 years, so much so that we’ve developed our own language in the studio,” they explain.
That language, born out of inside jokes, late-night sessions, and a relentless curiosity, first found global resonance in 2010 with the rise of dubstep.
But the roots go much deeper, into a shared youth spent experimenting, exploring, and dreaming up soundscapes that would one day move festival fields and warehouse floors around the world.
But the fun was always present throughout the making of the LP.
“In one moment, it’s a serious body of work, and in the next, it’s two friends messing around,” they admit.
We caught up with them to mark the release of and asked them to put together a playlist that serves as a soundtrack to their friendship.

We listened to a lot of drum and bass growing up and I don’t think any artist was more influential than Pendulum. Early flux pavilion was basically just badly made pendulum but slower haha [FP]

Like Rusko, Caspa played a huge part in developing my love for dubstep, his music was a bit less fun but a bit more cool, a line that we both are endlessly trying to tow. [FP]

When this song was released it felt totally original and different to everything else that was happening in dubstep at the time. I remember hearing this song for the first time and being instantly excited about the future of dubstep. [DP]

You could pretty much choose any prodigy track, their first album ‘experience’ probably had the most profound impact on our approach to rave music. This to me is pure dance music. [FP]

Rusko – Cockney Thug
This was the very first dubstep song I ever heard back in 2008. I was immediately a fan of rusko and very quickly became a fan of dubstep in general. I started trying to produce my own dubstep tracks within a few hours of hearing cockney thug for the first time. [DP]

The line between dubstep and EDM is basically a blur these days, so it feels fitting to include my favourite EDM track of all time. I’m forever trying to write a dubstep track that feels like this. [FP]

I’ve always loved this track’s combination of extreme silliness and extreme swag. It manages to be completely outrageous and extremely cool at the same time which is really what dubstep is all about. [DP]
