Chris Martin says he doesn’t eat dinner after Gwyneth Paltrow’s diet goes viral

Is Chris Martin taking a page from Gwyneth Paltrow’s playbook?

One week after his ex-wife’s controversial diet went viral, the Coldplay frontman told “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend” podcast listeners that he does not “have dinner anymore.”

Martin explained, “I stop eating at 4, and I learned that from having lunch with Bruce Springsteen.

“I was lucky enough to go over there to lunch the day after we played Philadelphia last year,” the singer, 46, continued in Monday’s episode, noting that he “was on a really strict diet anyway.”

Martin shared that he was inspired to make Springsteen’s habits his “next challenge” because the 73-year-old rocker looked “more in shape” than he did at the time.

When Springsteen’s wife, Patti Scialfa, told Martin that her husband “only eat[s] one meal a day,” the “Fix You” singer thought, “Well, there we go.”

As for Paltrow, the Goop founder similarly practices intermittent fasting, waiting until 12 p.m. to eat her first meal.

“I have bone broth for [lunch] a lot of the days,” the actress, 50, revealed in the March 13 episode of the “Art of Being Well” podcast. “Then for dinner I try to eat according to paleo, so lots of vegetables.”

Paltrow was hooked up to an IV drip during the interview, which she gushed made her “feel so good.”

The Oscar winner defended herself after Meghan McCain, Tess Holliday and more stars slammed her “starvation diet” last week.

Paltrow — who is currently on trial for allegedly leaving a doctor with a brain injury during a 2016 ski trip — blamed her choices on “very high levels of inflammation” from long COVID-19 in an Instagram Story video Friday.

“I have been really working to really focus on foods that aren’t inflammatory,” she explained.

The “Shakespeare in Love” star told her followers that her habits were not “meant to be advice for anyone else” as they were “based on [her] medical results and extensive testing.”

When Paltrow was married to Martin from 2003 to 2016, the former couple ate basically “nothing,” their personal chef told news.com.au.

“They are very strict,” Kate McAloon claimed in 2017. “They avoided any sugars, anything sweet, no dairy, just more vegetables.”
