Despite being able to perform in front of a huge crowd, there are certainly people that the star doesn’t like watching her.

Those include her former bandmates – and it’s because she “can’t handle the emotion”.

Speaking to Lorraine’s Scarlette Douglas, Cheryl said: “That, I don’t like.

“It’s an emotional thing, because we’ve had so many emotional moments together, I know how they’ll be feeling and thinking.

“Before a show I can’t handle the emotion of them being proud and of them being like, ‘I know you’re going to be…’ I don’t want to hear from them until after the show.”

It comes after Cheryl fought back the tears as she received a standing ovation for her West End debut.

She appeared glassy-eyed as she took to the stage for the curtain call for last night’s 2:22: A Ghost Story press evening – and received a standing ovation.

She made her debut as Jenny earlier this month and the popstar seemed to be fighting back tears as she bowed to the crowd.

Last week Cheryl was mobbed by adoring fans as she left the Lyric theatre in London’s Piccadilly after her performance of her new play.

She follows in the footsteps of Lily Allen and Laura Whitmore to take on the leading role in the show.

The mum-of-one will appear in 106 shows and is expected to bag £1k a night for her leading lady performance.
