Carl Bevan dead: Musician who rose to fame as drummer of 60ft Dolls supporting Oasis & playing Glastonbury dies aged 51

LEGENDARY drummer Carl Bevan, from the famous 90s punk band 60ft Dolls, has sadly passed away aged 51.

The icon’s musician’s partner, Bev, confirmed the tragic news on Carl’s Facebook page.

Carl’s heartbroken girlfriend confirmed the tragic news on his Facebook page

She wrote: “Hello everyone, this is Bev, Carl’s girlfriend.

“I’m heartbroken to say that our lovely, crazy boy has sadly passed very suddenly.

“I hadn’t posted sooner because I wanted some time to let close friends and family know in person so thank you all so much for being respectful.

“As you might imagine, me, his daughter, parents, friends and family are all absolutely devastated.

“I will of course share more information when I have it and there will be a time to share the memories, but in the meantime much love to you all.”

Carl sadly leaves behind his daughter, Connie.

Emotional tributes have poured in since the news of his death broke.

One wrote: “I am stunned and so so sad to read this news this evening. Bless you Carl. What a gem. Bev I can’t imagine what you are going through right now. Sending all my love and strength to you and all of Carl’s close family and friends.”

“I’m so so sorry for your loss and a truly great loss for the world too my heart goes out to you all,” shared another heartbroken fan.

A third wrote: “This is so sad such a talent in so many aspects . He will be missed by the World. Love to all the family I hand his paintings and listen to his music with the privilege that I knew him.”

“I am so sad to hear this news. Great drummer and artist. He will be sadly missed by many,” said a fellow fan.

Carl was inspired to become a musician by his father as a child and made his big break as part of the 60ft Dolls when he was still a teen.

The self-confessed former party animal once told the BB: “There was a lot of gigs, a lot of laughter and stuff got broken and brain cells sacrificed in the name of rock’n’roll.”
