Capital Summertime Ball 2025 UPDATES: Will Smith and Jazzy Jeff join Wembley Stadium line-up as ticket prices revealed

CAPITAL’s Summertime Ball with Barclaycard returns to Wembley Stadium on June 15 with tickets costing up to £420, according to social media reports.

The full line-up for the event has now been announced live on air on Capital.

One fan on X posted a screenshot of the tickets, which shows they start from £86.74 for a standing spot on the pitch.

This morning, Rita Ora, Fresh Prince Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff were the latest acts to be announced, joining Mariah Carey, Busted Vs McFly, Dasha, Jessie J and rising star Benson Boone who have already been confirmed for the show.

Will Smith’s appearance comes three years after he was slammed for not apologizing to Chris Rock at the Oscars in March 2022 minutes after slapping him.

Since then, the Men in Black star has ben staging a carefully choreographed comeback, which included an appearance at the Coachella festival in the US last year.

Capital listeners who are logged into the Global Player app had exclusive pre-sale access to tickets from 9am this morning, with tickets going on general sale tomorrow at 9am.

  • Wembley bound – Zara Larsson

Zara last performed at the Summertime Ball in 2023.

With a string of chart-topping hits and impeccable dance moves, she has become the poster girl for pop.

But Zara has revealed that as a young woman in the industry she has struggled to be taken seriously.

Sitting down with Sun on Sunday backstage at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Dundee in 2023, the Lush Life hitmaker admitted she has had to overcome sexism to make her name in music.

The singer said: “I think it happens everywhere when you are a young girl and you are working.

“I have been lucky to have a good team around me. I try to surround myself with a lot of women, I really do.”

  • ‘Have we woken up in a different era?

Fans have slammed the organisers for a “disappointing” line-up for this year’s Summertime Ball.

One wrote on X: “Not spending nearly £200 just to enjoy not even half the line up.”

It comes after it was revealed ticket prices cost from £80 to more than £400, with artists Will Smith and Mariah Carey headlining.

Another wrote: “Have we woken up in a different era?! Mariah Carey & Will Smith as Summertime Ball headliners”.

@Natashaxx_99 added: “Capital Summertime Ball 2025 headliners being Mariah Carey and Will Smith has me very confused.

“For a show that usually has headliners who are currently relevant on the radio and charts, to having these older artists that most younger listeners wouldn’t even recognise is strange.”

  • Fans’ fantasy line-up

Before today’s announcement, fans posted their fantasy line-ups on X for this year’s Capital Summertime Ball – with wish lists ranging from the impossible (Ed Sheeran) to the absolutely-not-a-chance-in-hell (Sam Fender/Lady Gaga).

  • Also in the 2025 line-up – Jessie J

Jessie recently appeared on stage at a very crowded Ronnie Scott’s to perform comeback track No Secrets.

“I love that I’m nervous,” Jessie told The Sun. “It means I still give a fk.”

As we revealed last month, Jessie is preparing to release new music and during the top secret playback in London – packed with top music industry watchers – she teased her sixth album as well as unveiling No Secrets, out this month.

  • Busted Vs McFly – what you need to know

One of the first acts announced was Busted VsMcFly, the noughties bands who go mic-to-mic against each other.

Their appearance at the Summertime Ball is part of a nationwide tour.

James Bourne, who is in Busted, with Charlie Simpson and Matt Willis, said: “The whole tour is to find out who’s a better band. Fans can decide.

“They can come and support their band and they might change their mind. It’s going to be a fight to the death.”

  • ‘Gutted … hoped for better’

Fans are continuing to express their disappointment at the line-up for this year’s Summertime Ball.

One wrote on X: “Not spending nearly £200 just to enjoy not even half the line up.”

It comes after it was revealed ticket prices cost from £80 to more than £400, with artists Will Smith and Mariah Carey, pictured below in her 90s heyday, headlining.

  • Bad boy returns

Since Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars in 2022, the Men in Black star has been staging a carefully choreographed comeback, which included an appearance at the Coachella festival in the US last year.

His appearance came a month before the release of the latest instalment in his most famous film franchise, Bad Boys.

  • Will who? Fans slam artists ‘listeners have never heard of nor care about’

As the full line-up is revealed, some fans are far from happy.

Here’s what some have been posting on X …

One had this to say: ” Will Smith and Mariah Carey at the summertime ball 2025? I fear Capital has fallen off this year because WHY is the radio station known for playing current top 40 music but you’ve got 90s/2000s artists playing that half the listeners have never heard of nor care about.”

Another added: “If they just booked the artists they actually promote on their station, that would solve all their problems and they wouldn’t have to target different demographics.”
