James, 40, opened up on the terrifying experience on Instagram as he shared a pair of images.
The first was a close up picture of a Black Widow spider that was spinning a web.
His second photo showed an image of the raw and infected arm as he admitted just how scary the experience was.
The Busted star admitted that at one point he was even refused an intravenous drip medication because of the seriousness of the condition, and so he was rushed to hospital.
The songwriter captioned the pic: “I’m finally recovered now ( touch wood) from being bitten by a black widow spider.
“I did not know how serious my condition was until I was refused an IV drip at my local Next health because I was suffering hypertension with a blood pressure reading of 190 / 115 mmHg.”
He added: “Apparently that’s quite serious 😅 . I ended up at the hospital later that night! Anyway, im still here, Alive and kicking! Cool story bro…”
His fans flocked to the comments section as they flooded the post with his well-wishes.
One fan stated: “Was worried about you fella glad your better now❤️.”
Another user echoed: “Glad your OK!! ❤️.”
“Ouch! I’m glad you are on the mend…great story though! X,” noted a third.
As a fourth penned: “Glad ur ok now and in recovery.”
A fifth added: “Oh my god! 😱 so glad you’re okay now ❤️.”
This comes just weeks after the group performed a sold-out gig at the Capital Jingle Bell Ball at London’s O2 Arena.

At the time, James even opened up on the not-so-secret rivalry with McFly.
The boy bands were famously in competition with each other when they both battled for chart domination in the early noughties.
Despite their brief grouping together, Charlie Simpson confessed that there is still an “absolute rivalry” between the bands ten years on.
He admitted: “It’s not sneaky, it’s an absolute rivalry.”
James added: “There’s no competition anymore, we’re the clear cut favourites!”
He then took a brutal swipe at the band, saying: “No-one remembers them anymore.
“Whenever people used to come up to me and say, ‘Oh, wait, like I like you. But you know, I also like, McFly’. Now they just go, ‘I’m so glad you’re back’.
“They don’t say anything about them.”
What is a Black Widow Spider?

How dangerous can they be?
BLACK WIDOW spiders are known for the distinctive marking on their abdomens and their powerful venom.
The carnivores are around 1.5 inches long, with a diameter of 0.25 inches – not much bigger than a paperclip.
But despite their small size, they are notoriously venomous and can release a poison that is thought to be 15 times stronger than that of a rattlesnake.
Black widows are a very rare find in the UK, and they’re poorly suited to the damp climate.
According to the National Geographic website, bites can cause nausea, muscle aches, and paralysis of the diaphragm that can make breathing difficult.
