WHEN footballer WAYNE ROONEY turned 18 in 2003, there was one band that he wanted at his birthday party.
The former England player invited Busted’s Matt Willis, Charlie Simpson and James Bourne to the bash at Aintree Racecourse, which even included a dance-off with the England squad.

Now, 20 years later, the What I Go To School For stars are repaying the favour — by inviting the footie legend, below, to one of their reunion gigs.
Sitting down with Biz on Sunday in the studio ahead of their 20th anniversary tour, which kicks off in Plymouth on September 2, James said: “Wayne came backstage when he was 18 — but I feel he likes hip-hop now.”
Charlie grinned: “We will invite him, James!”
And Matt added: “Yeah, once you love Busted it never goes away.”

Recalling Wayne’s 18th birthday bash, James added: “My brother was the biggest Everton fan.
“I took him with us and I didn’t tell him where we were going until we got there.”
Matt said: “You could be normal with him.
“He wasn’t a ‘celeb’ kind of guy — he was like us, so he just wanted to party and have fun.
“He was a Premiership footballer so maybe he shouldn’t have partied so much, but it was a different time.
“We always liked hanging out with him. He was great.”
Meanwhile the pop-punk band, who have sold more than five million records worldwide, revealed they have put their wild days behind them as they embark on their 26-date arena tour.
Matt, who is married to TV presenter Emma Willis, said: “We have got a cold plunge pool on tour — I am obsessed with it.”
Speaking about getting in shape, the bass player added: “I have been training for the last two months because I don’t want to be out of breath.
“I am 40 now so I need to sort myself out and prepare for the tour.
“I still want to jump around and go crazy and I don’t want to do two songs and be exhausted.”
Asked about their plans to unwind after the show, Charlie joked: “Herbal tea or something? Rock ’n’ roll, man!”
The Crashed The Wedding chart-toppers — who are set to drop their Greatest Hits 2.0 album featuring Jonas Brothers and James Arthur next month — revealed that they now want to create a fly-on-the-wall documentary.
Charlie said: “We are filming two of the shows. We don’t know what we will do with it.
“I would like to make a documentary about the story of Busted, and we are in talks with a couple of people about possibly doing that
“It is a very cool moment in the band’s career.”

BEY GETS FRUITY
BEYONCE made sure she was looking her zest as she stepped out on stage in Atlanta.
The Break My Soul hitmaker flaunted her hourglass figure in a lime chiffon dress – featuring a thigh-high slit and hood – at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Georgia during the US leg of her Renaissance world tour.

But not all her fans were able to see the superstar in her stunning gown after the stadium released “listening-only” tickets for the back of the stage.
Bey started her 56 dates in Stockholm in May and played to more than 240,000 fans during a five-night residency in London.

ALIA MAR says she would love to see more women topping the line-up at festivals.
The rising star, who has just dropped her hot new single Forget About Your Ex, revealed she would most like her muse Taylor Swift to take the No1 spot at a festival like Glastonbury – after there were no women among the main headliners this year.
Talia told me: “We are getting closer to having a more balanced line-up at festivals because years ago there would just be one or two female artists and now there are so many more – but we can do better.
“We are heading in the right direction – every year the line-up gets more even. Can Taylor Swift headline somewhere? I love her and I am down for that!”
Meanwhile, Talia said that after marrying You- Tube star Simon Minter in June, she has to turn to pals for inspiration on heartbreak tracks.
She said: “I write about friends all the time. I feel they hate me for it!”
A WAVE REVIEW FOR CHRIS
CHRIS MARTIN appeared to have a Higher Power while riding a foilboard on his Spanish getaway.
The Coldplay frontman was spotted testing his balance on the electric board and made sure to put safety first as he rocked a black helmet.

The star was joined for the day by his teenage son Moses, who he shares with ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow.
Coldplay are set to resume their Music Of The Spheres world tour in September when they will play the Lumen Field stadium in Seattle.
It will be good to see Chris back on dry land again.
LIAM BACK AS FANS GO KOKO NUTS
MARACAS in hand and parka jacket in place, Liam Gallagher sauntered on stage at Koko looking the part.
More importantly, he sounded it too.

Playing a special set to commemorate the release of live album Knebworth 22, the rocker sneered down the mic, just like in the days of old.
A crackle of electricity hung in the air as he was joined by his son Gene on drums and Oasis bandmate Bonehead on guitar.
He asked: “Do we have any Oasis fans in this little house?”
A string of the band’s mega-hits including Stand By Me, Roll With It, Live Forever and Wonderwall kept the anthem quota high as the star rocked the 1,400-capacity venue to its core.
Liam showed us he is still mad fer it, and so are his fans.

WE’RE RLY UP FOR IT
RISING girl group RLY (Real Like You) have said they are paving the way for a new wave of all- female bands in the industry.
The group, made up of Virginia, Halle, Jess, Kelli And Kyra, said: “We love that there is a space for girl bands in the music industry and it hasn’t happened in a while.
“It is a really nice thing to be a part of that, because you get an empowerment element from a girl band.
“People try to be like, ‘You are the modern-day Spice Girls’.
“It is honestly such a privilege to be able to have our name next to them.”
The five-piece pop band, who have just released their debut single Love Me Or Not and will be dropping their track Superpower next month, added: “What we love is that we all come from different backgrounds and have different styles and personalities.

“But it all works and that is what we want to celebrate as a girl group – our individuality.”
