Brittany Cartwright is ready to shine.
“I’m in a much better places than I was last summer,” the Bravo star told Tom Schwartz during an appearance on his Detox Retox podcast on August 12.
‘The Valley’ star is focused on being ‘happy and healthy’
This time last year, Brittany was deep in the breakdown of her marriage to fellow Vanderpump Rules alum Jax Taylor. The ugly split played out during season 2 of The Valley, as Jax’s years-long issues with drugs, alcohol, and anger finally forced Brittany to file for divorce.
As The Valley’s second season drew to a close, Jax announced that he was stepping away from the show. With the show’s most problematic cast member gone, Brittany – who now has her “sparkle” back – says she’s looking forward to The Valley Season 3. (Bravo has not officially renewed the Pump Rules spinoff for another season, but it’s widely expected to return.)
“I’m excited for season 3,” Brittany said. “Because I feel like it’s my time to be happy and healthy and just a whole different Brittany than what you saw last season.”
“A how Brittany got her groove back kind of vibe,” Tom chimed in.
“Exactly,” she replied.
With a possible season 3 on the horizon, does Brittany have any advice for her future self?
“Just be who you are,” she said. “Don’t get in the drama. Which I already don’t … I just want everybody to get along at the end of the day.”
Brittany teases ‘crazy’ experience on ‘Special Forces’ Season 4

During her chat with Tom, Brittany also opened up about her upcoming appearance on Special Forces: The World’s Toughest Test.
“It was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life,” she said, adding that she cried “at least three times” during filming season 4 of the show, which will also feature RHONJ’s Teresa Giudice and her daughter Gia, RHOA’s Eva Marcille, Sister Wives star Kody Brown, and disgraced actor Jussie Smollet, among others.
While she can’t reveal how long she lasted, Brittany said she gave it her best shot.
“Let’s just say I tried,” she said with a laugh.
“I’m go glad I did it,” she added. “I pushed myself to do things I never thought I could do … It was a whirlwind. It was crazy. I’m glad I did it, because it was something different, it was something that pushed myself. With everything that’s going on in my life, it felt like something that was needed.”
The Valley is streaming on Peacock. Special Forces: The World’s Toughest Test Season 4 premieres Thursday, September 24 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Fox. Episodes stream the next day on Hulu.
