Miranda Lambert reportedly felt blindsided by her divorce from Blake Shelton
Shortly after Lambert and Shelton made their divorce public, he began a high-profile relationship with Gwen Stefani. A source claimed this was very painful for Lambert.
“The cold-blooded way Blake blindsided her with divorce, drove her out of his life, and then shoved his romance with Gwen [Stefani] in her face is something that will scar her forever,” a source told Life & Style. “It still burns her.”

She reportedly felt shocked by the divorce.
“Blake blindsided her with the divorce and drove her out of their home,” another insider told Life & Style. “It hurt her badly and profoundly changed her outlook on life.”
Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton met while they were both in other relationships
Lambert and Shelton met in 2005 when they were both in different relationships. They sang together at CMT’s 100 Greatest Duets event and realized they were falling for each other onstage.
“I’ve never had that kind of experience with anybody,” Shelton said, per Entertainment Weekly. “I was a married guy, you know? Standing up there and singing with somebody and going, ‘Man, this shouldn’t be happening.’ Looking back on that, I was falling in love with her, right there on stage.”
Lambert said their chemistry felt effortless and immediate.
“He’s hilarious,” Lambert said. “We had instant chemistry, just like messing with each other, and he’s real easy to be around.”
Still, she knew that they shouldn’t pursue anything. He was married and she was engaged.
“I knew better, like, this is off-limits … I didn’t know what to do with it, it was, like, my first duet with some other country star, and I didn’t know if it was just initial butterflies because of that,” she said, adding, “I don’t know what it was. It was just this draw to each other.”
The former couple reportedly avoids each other in public
Both Shelton and Lambert have moved on with new marriages, but they reportedly still aren’t on good terms. A source claimed they try to avoid each other altogether.

“Miranda doesn’t want to attend any event where Blake is the star attraction, and vice versa,” a source told Life & Style. “Their egos can’t handle it, and the brutal reality is that they can’t stand the sight of each other. They’re totally competitive, and there’s no love lost, and they don’t want any awkward confrontations. Some might say they don’t want the other to steal their spotlight.”
