THE drummer of rock band Urge Overkill has died.
Blackie Onassis, born John Rowan, passed away suddenly on Tuesday at the age of 57.

His heartbroken bandmates said: “Urge Overkill is saddened to report that Blackie has passed away.
“Please respect our privacy at this time. We are sending much love to his family and all his fans.
“We know he will be missed.”
His cause of death has not yet been confirmed.

Onassis joined the Chicago-based group in 1991 and the group had hits with songs such as Girl, You’ll Be a Woman Soon and Sister Havana.
In another post, the band shared a picture of Onassis with actor Jack Black with the caption: “Thank you for the love and support today.
“We wanted to share this photo of Blackie, we hope you like it as much as we do.”
Black paid tribute to Onassis in the comments, describing him as a “wild card”.
He wrote: “Loved Blackie. ‘Supersonic Storybook’. ‘Saturation’. ‘Exit the Dragon’. Some of my favourite albums of all time!
“He was a wild card and a force of nature. Gonna miss him.”
