AUBREY Plaza has claimed a director told her to touch herself “for real” while filming sex comedy The To-Do List.
The 38-year-old actress has opened up about her experience while shooting the 2013 flick.

In the move Aubrey played Brandy Klark and one scene showed the teen performing a sex act on herself.
While it’s usually standard practice for actors to be protected with modesty barriers and the use of prosthetics while filming X-rated scenes, White Lotus star Aubrey has insisted director Maggie Carey encouraged her to do it for real.
Speaking to Conan O’Brien, she said: “In my head, I envisioned a nice scene where you see my hand slowly go out of frame.

“That’s what I thought I was going into, but then when I showed up, the camera was mounted on the ceiling, I was in my underwear and a Clinton t-shirt, and there were a bunch of old men smoking, ya know, the crew guys.
“And then I went and touched myself.”
She continued: “I thought I was doing one thing and then when I showed up, it was a whole different thing, it was a full body shot.
“And I asked the director, ‘What should I do?’ And she said, ‘Masturbate, like it says in the script’.”
Aubrey first shot to fame as April Ludgate in sitcom Parks and Recreation.
She appeared in 125 episodes of the long-running between 2009 and 2015, as well as a special in 2020.
