Aubrey Plaza makes first public appearance since husband Jeff Baena’s death at ‘SNL 50’ anniversary special

Aubrey Plaza made her first public appearance following the death of her husband, Jeff Baena.

The “White Lotus” actress briefly appeared during the “Saturday Night Live” 50th anniversary special to introduce one of the evening’s performances Sunday.

“Ladies and gentlemen, Miley Cyrus and Brittany Howard,” Plaza said from the audience before the musicians sang a cover of Sinéad O’Connor’s hit “Nothing Compares 2 U.”

Plaza’s brief “SNL” appearance comes after she starred onscreen with Michael Shannon and Bad Bunny in Ritz’s Super Bowl commercial.

The comedian, 40, has been privately grieving the death of her husband, who died by suicide on Jan. 3.

The film director was found unresponsive inside his Los Angeles-area home by an assistant, TMZ reported at the time. Baena was 47.

Days after the news made headlines, the “Parks and Recreation” alum spoke out about her longtime love’s death.

“This is an unimaginable tragedy. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has offered support,” Plaza said in a joint statement with Baena’s family.

“Please respect our privacy during this time.”

The “Agatha All Along” star later deactivated her Instagram account.

Plaza and Baena were together for over a decade prior to his death.

The two secretly tied the knot in 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic.

In December 2021, the actress revealed on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” that they made the decision to wed after they “got a little bored one night” in quarantine.
