Dave Grohl is a beloved rockstar known for his 20-year marriage to former model, producer, and director Jordyn Blum. Unfortunately, many fans’ ideas of Grohl came crashing down following his Instagram post that described his infidelity. His wife, Blum, hasn’t publicly commented on the situation. It’s unclear if the couple plans on working through their issues as a united front or if they plan to divorce.
Jacqueline Newman, managing partner at the matrimonial law firm Berkman Bottger Newman & Schein LLP in Manhattan, told Showbiz Cheat Sheet advice for Blum. Newman advised that what Blum should do next hinges on whether she plans to stay in the marriage or leave.
“I think it all depends on whether she is going to forgive [him] or not,” Newman said in an email. “If she is going to forgive him, she may still want to do a postnuptial agreement to address the fact that he will be spending marital income supporting a child of another relationship. If she does not decide to forgive him and moves forward with a divorce, I would advise her to get the best settlement she can and then do her best to move forward in the most positive way possible for her own sake [and] the sake of her children.”
Grohl and Blum married in August 2003 and have three children together: Violet Maye, 18, Harper Willow, 15, and Ophelia Saint, 10. They don’t often speak publicly about their marriage, and it’s unclear if they had a prenuptial agreement before they tied the knot.

I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved as we move forward together.”
A source told People that Grohl attained a divorce lawyer before he published his Instagram post. While he states he hopes to earn his wife’s “forgiveness,” fans don’t know where she stands in the matter.

“Public or private, affairs do not necessarily have a legal impact on divorce proceedings as all states have no-fault divorce,” she told Showbiz Cheat Sheet. “That said, affairs can have a serious emotional impact on divorce proceedings and can make litigation more contentious and settling much more difficult.”
As for the baby born outside of the couple’s marriage, Grohl will be entitled to give child support.
