‘Annoyed’ Cynthia Erivo schools Dax Shepard on how she wipes her butt with crazy-long nails

Cynthia Erivo nailed her response to Dax Shepard’s “inappropriate” question about how she maintains proper hygiene with extra-long nails.

“Can I ask you a really crazy question that’s inappropriate?” Shepard asked during Monday’s episode of his “Armchair Expert” podcast.

“When you’re wiping your butt…,” Shepard went on, before the “Wicked” star interjected, “I knew you would ask that question.”

“My answer is that nobody uses just their fingers to wipe their backside,” the actress, 37, explained. “You use tissue, correct? And you wipe!”

However, Shepard, 49, continued to press Erivo on the placement of the toilet paper in her hand, asking whether she uses the “tips of the fingernails.”

In response, Erivo clarified that she uses the “pads of the fingers.”

The comedian went on to ask the “Harriet” star if she sometimes feels a “little tickle of the nails on the crack” of her butt.

“No, because the tissue is there!” Erivo clapped back.

When Shepard asked if she was “offended” by the question, she admitted she was more “annoyed” because she is a “functioning adult” and has never “walked around smelling…”

The London-born entertainer further defended herself from others who have also wondered how she gets anything done with her long nails.

“I’m like, I mean, I’m here!” she said, adding, “I’m dressed.”

Erivo’s nails have been an eye-catching part of her red carpet looks during the “Wicked” press tour as she dazzles alongside her co-star Ariana Grande.

The Grammy winner’s manicurist, Mycah Dior, has recently been sharing close-up photos on Instagram of the custom art inspired by the highly anticipated film and created with the OPI x Wicked Nail Lacquer Collection.

Dior spoke to Bustle about Erivo’s extravagant manicure for the NYC premiere nails in an interview published last Thursday.

“This whimsical set is inspired by ‘Wicked’ of course and it brings Elphaba and Glinda’s worlds to life,” Dior said of her client’s nail design for the premiere.

“Green and pink colors embody their contrasting personalities, with Elphaba’s vivid green skin and Glinda’s soft, light-hearted aura,” Dior continued.

“Every detail adds to the enchanting, whimsical feel of this set — it took about four hours to create.”

Erivo plays Elphaba and Grande portrays Glinda in the Jon M. Chu-directed film, out Nov. 22.
