MASSIVE Attack guitarist Angelo Bruschini has died after a battle with lung cancer, the band confirmed.
The musician played on hits including Angel after joining the group in the 90s.

Massive Attack wrote: “RIP Angelo. A singularly brilliant & eccentric talent.
“Impossible to quantify your contribution to the Massive Attack canon. How lucky we were to share such a life together.”
Angelo also played for a number of other bands, including The Numbers, Rimshots and The Blue Aeroplanes, who paid tribute.
They said: “We are devastated to announce the passing of our brother Angelo Bruschini.
“Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time. Rest In Peace Ange x.”

Angelo opened up about his lung cancer diagnosis in July, saying he’d had a “great life”.
He added: “Twice now I have been told ‘Good luck’ by specialists at the hospital over lung cancer, I think I’m f***ed!
“Had a great life, seen the world many many times, met lots of wonderful people, but the door is closing, think I will write a book.”
His wife Jessica Merritt confirmed he had passed away yesterday from a “rare and aggressive” cancer.
Bristol-born Angelo produced alternative rock band Strangelove’s eponymous album in 1997.
He also played guitar for Jane Taylor’s award-winning single Blowing This Candle Out.
