Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt Were Just Offered Huge Sums of Money to Star in a Movie Together

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt haven’t worked together since the 2015 drama By the Sea, which Jolie also directed. Recently, however, a filmmaker shared that he would like to see the pair work together on-screen again in spite of their divorce.

Celebrity divorces are notorious for being costly, but expenses weren’t something that Jolie and Pitt had to worry about. TMZ reported that they signed an ironclad prenup when they married to protect their massive net worth. Still, a filmmaker is willing to make both of their wallets a little bit fuller if they agree to star in his upcoming movie. Despite the current controversy between the two, Danny Rossner feels confident he could bring them together for his World War 2 project. Based on a true story, the movie would see Pitt playing a hotel owner, and Jolie portraying his mistress. Speaking with Page Six, Rossner broke down the former couple’s high salaries to calculate how much he’d need to pay them to make his offer enticing.

“Right now, I think, Brad Pitt’s in the $20 to $25 million range [per movie] and Angelina Jolie is in the $15 million range,” Rossner said.

“In the 50-percent range above their going rate is what we’re prepared to offer,” Rossner added.

The filmmaker also asserted that he had plans to accommodate the actors if they refused to do a scene together.

“Then [the scenes] would disappear. That is the beauty of having the right to adjust the screenplay. But they’re certainly important for character development,” he added.

However, Rossner would have to do a lot of accommodating due to their bitter divorce. It was noted that the two did their best to avoid each other at the recent Venice Film Festival. Jolie and Pitt had to arrive on different dates just to make sure they didn’t cross paths. Rossner acknowledged the unlikeliness of the situation, but he still maintained hope.

“If we can have a cease fire between Israel and Lebanon, [Pitt and Jolie] can put their differences aside and come together to build a bridge and make this movie,” he said.

Angelina Jolie called the last time she worked with Brad Pitt ‘a little daunting’

When Jolie and Pitt came together for the 2015 movie By the Sea, she knew it would be challenging. Even more so than their previous collaboration Mr. and Mrs. Smith, which led to their love affair. The two were deep in their marriage at this point, and also playing a married couple on screen that was about to implode. But Jolie admitted that the danger of the project was what drew them towards it.

“It feels a little daunting,” Jolie once told Radio Times (via The Hollywood Reporter). “We haven’t worked together for 10 years. But all the reasons why people say we should be scared of it, we feel that’s exactly why we have to do this, because we can. So we’re going to go boldly.”

But she had faith By the Sea would be a good time in the end.

“He’s a pretty strong actor! It’s going to be interesting. He’s a really great artist, such an interesting artist, and of course he’s the man I love, so I think we’re going to have a great time,” she said.

Pitt had similar praise for Jolie both as an actor and a filmmaker. In an interview with The Telegraph (via Refinery 29), Pitt confided that he often tried to attach himself to good directors. So he felt he was in as good hands with Jolie as he was with other esteemed filmmakers he’d worked with in the past.

“I need to know I’m in good hands, and I trust Angie with my life. I love her instincts. She’s ferocious with a story and she’s really decisive at her post — in command,” he said.
