90s rock icon and 80s superstar ‘lined up for Glastonbury 2025’ after fans spot gaps in tour – and festival website clue

GLASTONBURY fans are claiming Alanis Morissette and Simple Minds are set to be featured in next year’s line-up.

Festival-goers came to the conclusion after spotting gaps in their tour schedules, along with a huge website clue.

But it’s not just the 90s rock icon and 80s superstar whose names have been thrown into the ring.

Sting, Justin Timberlake and Texas will also be free over varying dates over the June 25 to June 29 schedule.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, fan account The Glasto Thingy wrote: “A few acts with dates announced just after or around Glastonbury.

“For some reason I think Simple Minds are probably the most likely, but COME ON ALANIS!”

They also flagged: “The official Glastonbury website has had an update, including BSL links and changeable colour options.

“Hopefully this is a sign that the 2025 ticket news is on the way!”

Their followers went into a frenzy as they took to the comments section.

One tweeted: “Alanis has never played Glastonbury and still has one of the top 10 selling albums of all time Needs to happen.”

Someone else gushed: “Simple Minds or Alanis would be amazing! Hopefully the popularity of Avril Lavigne this year (which seemed to take organisers by surprise for some reason) will encourage them to get more 90/00s guitar pop like Alanis.”

Another added: “I would love Alanis to be there but for the love of God, she needs to be on the Pyramid.”

70s pop legend eyes a spot at Glastonbury as he launches huge comeback with new album and doc

One more concluded: “Simple Minds yes please! I want Harry Styles and Gary Numan. Jack White is surely a contender.”

It comes after The Sun revealed the One Direction singer had been approached by festival organiser Emily Eavis about headlining the Pyramid Stage at Worthy Farm.

The Sign Of The Times hitmaker has never played at Glastonbury, but our mole reckons he would be their dream booking.

A source said: “Harry would be the perfect Glastonbury headliner and Emily has long wanted him on stage at Worthy Farm, but the dates have never quite worked out.”

The timing could not be better for Harry, who is believed to have been quietly working on his fourth studio album.

His last record, Harry’s House, came out two years ago and was a worldwide smash — going straight to the top of the UK charts, where it stayed for six weeks. Harry took the album on tour and, over 22 months, played to millions of fans across the world before finishing in Italy in July last year.

Now he’s had a break, all the signs are pointing to a big comeback in 2025.

Our insider said: “Harry would be an incredible act to watch on the Pyramid Stage. Glastonbury has a fallow year in 2026, so booking Harry for next year would be perfect.

“It is something the team at Glastonbury are pushing for. Whether that dream will come true, however, is still to be decided by Harry’s team.”

And with Cher also in advanced talks to play the Legends slot at Glasto, Emily appears to be knocking it out of the park with her targets.
