Amani Jlassi from 90 Day Fiancé has a warning for people considering a nose job.
When Amani appeared on stage during part 1 of the 90 Day Fiancé Season 11 tell-all on June 22, viewers couldn’t help but notice that her face looked a little different. Amani herself admitted she wasn’t sure getting the nose job, aka a rhinoplasty, and other procedures was a good idea. After the episode aired, Amani took to social media to explain why she urges people not to rush into getting a nose job.
Amani Jlassi had ‘a huge identity crisis’ after plastic surgery
During the first halt of the 90 Day tell-all, Amani – who is part of the show’s first throuple – opened up about her and her husband Matt’s relationship with their girlfriend, Any. She also spoke about changes she’d made to her appearance.
“I’m actually six weeks post-op,” she said after host Shaun Robinson pointed out that she looked “different.”
“I got a nose job, a temporal lift, I got a BBL. And then I got a mini tummy tuck and lipo,” she explained.
Not everyone was a fan of Amani’s decision to go under the knife, including Any, who described her girlfriend’s extensive surgeries as “crazy.”
“It’s not something I’m proud of,” Amani admitted. “I kind of got pressure from, like, social media images … after surgery I went through a huge identity crisis, to be honest. I feel like I don’t look like me anymore.”
Any wasn’t the only one who thought Amani should have skipped the surgeries.
“She shouldn’t have touched her face. She was stunning,” one person commented on Instagram.
“Why did [Amani] get a nose job?” another wondered.
’90 Day Fiancé’ star urges anyone considering a nose job to ‘take your time’
After the tell-all aired, Amani took to social media to share more details about her divisive surgeries.
“Plastic surgery [does not equal] happiness,” she wrote on her Instagram Story.
“I’m not here to shame anyone for their choices, because I’ve lived it,” she continued. “But what I’ve learned is that surgery can’t fix what’s going on inside. That’s why I don’t glorify it. I’m proud to be stepping away from that path and choosing a new one: health, self-love, and wholeness.”
Amani added that it’s now been a few months since her surgeries, and she’s “starting to feel and look more like myself again.”
The 90 Day personality also said that she’d “seen the comments” people had made about her face – “even people calling me ugly after the Tell All.”
Rather than focus on the negativity, Amani said she wanted to use the criticism “to educate and hopefully help anyone considering rhinoplasty make the most informed decision possible.”
“Rhinoplasty is a journey, not a quick fix,” she said, pointing out that it can take up to a year to fully heal from the procedure.
Changing such a fundamental part of your face can also lead to an “identity shift,” she warned.
“What most people don’t talk about is the emotional impact. It’s common to experience a bit of an identity crisis … you’re looking in the mirror, and suddenly, your reflection doesn’t feel like you. It’s deep.”
“Your face is yours for life,” she added. “Please take your time, do your research, and love yourself through it all.”
