The hitmaker was initially in band Kajagoogoo but Limahl went on to launch a solo career.
It was when he went solo that he achieved hits with Only for Love and The NeverEnding Story.
Only for Love reached number 16 in the UK in 1983, while The NeverEnding Story reached number 4 in 1984.
Sharing the video of him lipsynching Kajagoogoo’s hit Too Shy with Hayley, Limahl, whose real name is Christopher Hamill, penned a caption.
He wrote: “During our interview today (coming soon) Hayley Palmer and I tried to book our hairbrushes for a duet…
“But it said, ‘Sorry, I’m already tangled up in commitments’.”
Fans rushed to the comment section, with one writing: “Omg how beautiful. Remembering the 80s how wonderful, bravo Limahl.”
A second then swooned: “Flippin’ adorable!”
While a third penned: “Very nice, Limahl. Greetings from Germany.”
Limahl’s popular hit The NeverEnding Story had a resurgence in popularity a couple of years ago.
Like Kate Bush when he hit Running Up That Hill was used in Stranger Things, Limahl saw a similar effect when his hit was used in the same series.
In 2020 when Stranger Things season three came out, fans fell in love with the hit all over again when Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo) performs the the song to his long-distance girlfriend Suzie (Gabriella Pizzolo).
Limahl saw his Spotify streams rocket to 1.5million a month after the series dropped onto Netflix.
Speaking about his song’s inclusion in the show in 2020, Limhal said that he smiled every time he thought of the show.
“I didn’t know anything about the song being included and had never watched the show,” he said at the time.
He added: “But the monthly streams jumped up by 150,000 a day and eventually reached 1.5million.
“I’ve unquestionably done alright from it all and continue to do so.”
