Sarah Michelle Gellar was born in New York City on April 14, 1977. Her father, Arthur Gellar, was a garment worker, and her mother, Rosellen was a nursery school teacher.
Sarah began acting at age six when she appeared in the TV Film “An Invasion of Privacy” in 1983. Her breakout role came in 1992 when she was cast as Sidney Rutledge in the television series “Swans Crossing.”

Sarah Michelle Gellar began her acting career in commercials at age four. From there, she went on to small land roles in TV shows. Sarah Michelle Gellar began her professional acting career at the age of six.
After being spotted at a Manhattan restaurant, she was asked to audition for a TV film. She impressed the director and was given a role in the TV film “An Invasion of Privacy” in 1983.
Her next Tv series was “Swans Crossing” where she played the role of Sydney Rutledge, a Wealthy teenager. The show aired from June to September 1992.
Sarah was cast as Kendal Hart in the popular TV series “All My Children” from 1993 to 1995. She won the Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series at Daytime Emmy Awards for her role in “All My Children.”
