Up till 2022, he has won 34 races and has started from the pole position 19 times. In addition, he completed the second grand slam of his career by winning the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in 2022.

On the other hand, he has decided to extend his contract with Red Bull, which will ensure that he will continue to work for the company through at least the 2028 season. Recently, Verstappen may have thought he was proving a point when he refused to let his colleague Sergio Pérez drive in his place at the Grand Prix of Sao Paulo. Pérez was competing in the same race.
