Family and Childhood Of Linn Grant
Grant is the granddaughter of Scottish golfer James Grant, who used to live in Inverness but now lives in Helsingborg, Sweden. Grant was on the European Vagliano Trophy team that won in 2019 and on the European Junior Solheim Cup team that won in 2017. She was chosen to play for the International Team in the 2020 Arnold Palmer Cup.
Grant got into the 2018 Women’s British Open at St. Annes Old Links Golf Club with a round of 62, which was a 10-stroke improvement. However, with rounds of 78 and 72, she didn’t make the cut at the Women’s Open at Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club. She also won the sectional qualification for the 2018 U.S. Olympics.
Women’s Open at Buckinghamshire Golf Club with scores of 67 and 70, nine strokes better than third-place qualifier Mel Reid and seven strokes better than second-place finisher Catriona Matthew. Grant played in the open tournament at Shoal Creek Club in America. His first two rounds, 69 and 72, tied him for fourth place and best amateur. His last two rounds, 78 and 81, tied him for 57th place.
Grant and Amanda Linnér, who is also from Sweden, were both first-year students at Arizona State University in 2019–20. In March 2020, she won her first title for the Arizona State Sun Devils at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in Honolulu.
During the summer of 2020, she played on the Nordic Golf Tour and won the GolfUppsala Open. Grant took part in the Road to Creekhouse Ladies Open, which was part of the 2020 Nordic Golf Tour Order of Merit. Ingrid Lindblad beat Grant in a playoff at the Skafto Open, so Grant came in second. A few weeks later, Grant won the Swedish Matchplay Championship.
