California Raiders

King tried out with the Oakland Raiders after going undrafted in the 2012 NFL Draft. The Oakland Raiders signed King to a three-year, $1.36 million contract on April 29, 2012. Due to an earlier injury to veteran Shane Lechler, King received the majority of the punting snaps throughout training camp. King made an impression on the coaches and was retained on the roster, but he spent the whole 2012 NFL season on injured reserve.

King and Chris Kluwe, a seasoned veteran, contended for the Oakland Raiders’ punting job during the 2013 preseason after Lechler signed a free-agent contract with the Houston Texans. On November 22, 2019, the St. Louis Battlehawks selected King in the 2020 XFL Supplemental Draft.
