Music superstar Irv Gotti ‘suffers another stroke’ at 54 amid health struggle – and condition is currently ‘unknown’

RECORD producer Irv Gotti has reportedly suffered another stroke – with the extent of his current health condition unknown.

The American hip-hop legend, 54, who co-founded label Murder Inc Records back in 1998, is said to be in the midst of a fresh medical battle after suffering other ailments including Diabetes.

Website allhiphop.com claims he has suffered the second stroke within the space of just over a year.

At present reps for Irv, full name Irving Domingo Lorenzo Jr, have offered no comment.

Back in 2024, he was spotted using a cane and declared: “Diabetes is deteriorating my body.”

In a candid chat with the Drink Champs podcast centred on his health he said: “It’s [Diabetes] rampant with Black people. What it does is, it starts deteriorating your body.”

He continued: “I’ve been diagnosed with diabetes forever; it’s hereditary.

“When my [blood sugar] gets too high, shot [of insulin]. It’s reversible but you gotta change the way you eat — all that.

“But you know what’s f**ked up with diabetes?

“So anything that you’re gonna like or tastes good, horrible for you. Now what’s some nasty s**t?

“Broccoli… you supposed to eat some leaves or s**t like that.”

At the time of his previous medical incident, a spokesperson for the Queens-born music mogul stated: “Irv has been struggling with diabetes for years, which caused him to have a minor stroke over six months ago.

“He has since changed his diet to eating more healthy.

“He’s been successful in making a full recovery.”

Irv’s rep was then forced to mop up a slew of rumors and added: “Irv is not in a rehab facility.

“He is at home with his family, enjoying life.”

How to lower your risk of type 2 diabetes

According to Diabetes UK, there are a few diet tweaks you can make to lower your risk of type 2 diabetes:

1. Choose drinks without added sugar – skip out the sugar in your tea and coffee and stay away from fizzy and energy drinks
2. Eat whole grains such as brown rice, wholewheat pasta, wholemeal flour, wholegrain bread and oats instead of refined carbs
3. Cut down on red and processed meat like bacon, ham, sausages, pork, beef and lamb
4. Eat plenty of fruit and veg – apples, grapes, berries, and green leafy veg such as spinach, kale, watercress, and rocket have been associated with reduced risk of type 2 diabetes
5. Have unsweetened yoghurt and cheese
6. Cut down on booze – and have a few days a week with none at all
7. Have healthy snacks like unsweetened yoghurt, unsalted nuts, seeds and fruit and veg
8. Eat healthy fats included in nuts, seeds, avocados and olive oil
9. Cut down on salt
10. Get your vitamins and minerals from food instead of tablets

The music manager’s clients include the likes of The Game, Blueface and 6ix9ine.

Irv has also had collaborations with other veteran musicians such as Kanye West, DMX, and Jay-Z.

He has also worked extensively with Ja Rule and Ashanti.

He also allegedly dated the Rock Wit U hitmaker while still married to his ex wife, Debbie Lorenzo.

Debbie was wed to Irv for more than a decade before they got divorced in 2013.

While they were together, the couple welcomed three children – Angie, Sonny, and Jonathan Wilson Gotti.
