Ex-‘Hamilton’ Dancer Missing Days After SOS Alert Received From Phone

The search continues for a man who vanished in October while visiting his family in South Carolina.

Zelig Williams, 28, was last seen on the Palmetto Trail in early October. In a Facebook post, Williams’ cousin, Mieoki Corbett-Jacobs, wrote that subsequent searches are planned as they work with law enforcement.

“The search will continue, but not in the areas that we’ve searched before (stay tuned for additional dates and locations in the next week or two). We do not believe that Zelig is in the water and we ABSOLUTELY believe that there is foul play related to his disappearance,” she said on Thursday.

According to Deadline, Williams’ family said he possibly stopped taking medications intended for his mental health before his disappearance. Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said early in their investigation that foul play has not been ruled out, but it is unclear whether this has changed.

The trail Williams was last seen on is 30 miles from his family’s home in Richland County. A day after he vanished, Williams’ car was discovered on the trail. His belongings were reportedly located inside the vehicle.

Williams’ family claimed that the morning he vanished, they got an SOS ping from his phone from one of his friends in New York. The alert indicated a crash had occurred, but police said his car had no evidence of being in an accident.

Williams recently returned home after performing on Broadway and was slated to teach a dance class the month he vanished. It is unclear if foul play is suspected in his disappearance.

Williams was reportedly last seen wearing a white t-shirt, black pants, and brown slides. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call the Richland County Sheriff’s Department at 803-576-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CrimeSC.
