Kristen Bell gives rare look at her and Dax Shepard’s daughters while celebrating actor’s 50th birthday

Kristen Bell celebrated husband Dax Shepard’s birthday with a sweet carousel of photos that included a rare glimpse of their two daughters.

“Happy birthday to the most affectionate 220 lbs man that ever existed. I cannot imagine life without you 💚💕,” the actress captioned her post. “The first pic is the first I ever posted on Instagram. The second is from our wedding day.”

Bell, 44, and the “Armchair Expert” podcast host — who turned 50 on Thursday — married in 2013 and share two kids: daughters Lincoln, 11, and Delta, 9.

The photo batch included snaps of Shepard sharing affectionate moments with their kids, albeit with their faces camouflaged to protect their privacy.

In one of the sweet pics, Shepard could be seen snuggling with both his girls while giving Delta a kiss.

Bell’s birthday wishes clearly touched Shepard.

“How dare you make me cry on my big day of turning super old ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️,” he wrote in the comments section of his wife’s post.

As Page Six previously reported, the “Nobody Wants This” star explained her and Shepard’s decision to shield their children’s faces in a 2020 interview.

“My feeling is that I chose a career in the public eye. I chose to be quoted, I chose to have my picture taken.” she told Romper.

“I don’t know them yet. I don’t know if they will want that. So I really don’t have the right to choose for them.”

Despite shielding their kids’ identities, the couple has been open about their often unconventional parenting beliefs — including the practice of free-range parenting.

Last September, the “Frozen” star revealed on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” that she and Shepard let their daughters roam around Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen for hours without parental supervision.

“The hotel opens up into the theme park and so we just were kind of like, ‘Are we going to free-range parenting and roll the die here?’” she recalled. “They woke up at like 6 a.m. every morning.”

Bell continued, “They scanned their bracelets to go outside. [We] didn’t see them for seven hours. Just running around Copenhagen.”

The “Veronica Mars” alum called the experience “heaven,” explaining, “We just had coffee, we played Spades, and then around 3 p.m. we’d be like, ‘Anybody see them?’ And then one of them would run up and need a Band-Aid or whatever.”

The couple are also quick to shut down criticism of their parenting style.

After the “Good Place” alum revealed last year that Delta and Lincoln drink non-alcoholic beer, her husband defended the decision on his “Armchair Expert” podcast.

“If anyone has a problem … that’s fine with me,” Shepard said in 2023. “I’m not going to change based on what anybody else says because this is our family and not your business.”

In 2020, Bell also hit back at trolls sniping that her youngest daughter still wore diapers at age 5, tweeting that her admission wasn’t “humiliating” because “everyone is different.”
