Grimes has moved on from her relationship with Elon Musk. The Canadian singer and songwriter has tried to keep things positive since the end of her romance with the controversial businessman despite a contentious custody battle. While she’s been willing to stay quiet on the relationship, for the most part, she won’t allow the world to think Elon Musk dumped her. Grimes clapped back on X after Azealia Banks claimed that Musk cheated on Grimes and sent her packing. She insists that’s not how it happened.
Grimes insists Elon Musk didn’t dump her
Grimes has been pretty open about her custody dispute with Elon Musk. The Canadian singer claims the father of her three children has actively attempted to alienate her from her kids. She says the billionaire has become “unrecognizable” in recent months and kept one of her children from her for five months while they battled over a parenting plan. While Grimes has been open about her recent custody battle, she hasn’t shared a lot about the end of her relationship. Still, she isn’t about to let people think she got dumped.
Azealia Banks took to social media to call out Grimes, claiming she was “dumped” by Musk after he cheated on her. Grimes responded quickly, insisting the 2022 breakup was not a “dumping.” Instead, she insists she is the one who called an end to the romance. She took to X to claim she “bounced” on the relationship and took her three kids with her.
Why are Azaelia Banks and Grimes feuding?
Azealia Banks and Grimes might use Elon Musk as ammo for their bitter feud, but the eccentric billionaire isn’t the reason they have bad blood. Well, not entirely. Grimes appears to have reignited the feud by sharing a meem involving Banks. Still, their drama predates Musk and Grimes’ break up.
According to several sources, the drama was caused by a music collaboration that never happened. According to Vox, Banks alleges that Grimes invited her out to spend time at Musk’s home to finish up her second album. Banks, according to her Instagram account, showed up only to be ghosted by Grimes. She claims to have been stuck in the house for “days” while Grimes “coddled” Musk.
Banks went scorched earth and shared everything she allegedly heard during her time in the house. Things have been tense ever since. Still, the ladies mostly left each other alone until now. We’ll have to see if they continue trading barbs in the coming days.
