AMBER Alert Teen Vanishes After Family Movie Night

An AMBER Alert is still active for a Texas girl who vanished from her family home earlier this month.

Alexa Jones, 15, was reportedly last seen at her Katy home on December 12. Her family told KRIV that she vanished after they had a family game or movie night at the residence.

According to them, Jones has never run away before. She reportedly has a phone that only works with Wi-Fi.

TK reported that Jones sent a few emails to her sister on December 14 and 15 — one which stated that she was safe and a stranger at a Starbucks let her charge her phone.

“I’m leaving Starbucks because the stranger had to go. My phone’s not charged much but let me clear my thoughts. I’m about to call them to pick me up. Is momma and the baby OK,” the email allegedly reads.

According to KPRC, the family believes Jones left the home via a side gate to avoid being filmed by a doorbell camera.

An AMBER Alert was issued for Jones on December 19, a week after her disappearance.

“Law enforcement believes she is in imminent danger,” the active alert says.

Jones was described as standing 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds, and having auburn hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black shirt, gray sweatpants, and prescription glasses.

Anyone with information regarding Jones’ whereabouts is asked to call the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Missing Persons Unit at 713-755-7427 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-847.
