After police detained Disterdick, they followed a trail of blood into the home through the back door. Upon entry, they discovered a deceased man who had been decapitated. The man was confirmed to be Caleb Disterdick’s father, Jason “Chirs” Disterdick.

Jason Disterdick was said to have been decapitated with a large knife still embedded in his neck, according to the affidavit.
