Bunnings and Uber have announced an extension of their same-day delivery team-up for home renovators and DIY-ers living outside the big cities.

From now, more than 60 non-metro Bunnings stores around the country will offer same-day delivery for parcel-sized orders.

Uber is also now filling a similar role for 45 metropolitan Bunnings stores that already offered the service.

In the first phase of the partnership, customers who place their order online by 2pm will receive their delivery by 7pm that day from eligible stores.

Same-day deliveries will incur a $15 fee, and can only be selected by customers living within a radius of 15km of the store.

Customers of those stores will still get the opportunity to select an economy delivery or click-and-collect options.

“Some customers value coming in to the store to browse, talk to the team and enjoy the Bunnings experience such as a coffee in the cafe or the sausage sizzle hosted by a local community group,” Bunnings chief operating officer Ryan Baker said.

“But for others, the convenience of delivery is preferred.”
