A man will face court after more than 70 guns and weapons were seized from a home in Sydney’s north-west.

Police raided the home on Cecil Street in Denistone East, near Ryde, at 9am yesterday.

The search allegedly uncovered 27 guns and 45 other prohibited weapons, as well as thousands of rounds of ammunition.

All items were seized and will undergo forensic examination.

A 41-year-old man was arrested at the property and taken to Gladesville Police Station.

He was charged with two counts of a licensee not complying with storage regulations, possessing a prohibited weapon, intentionally importing prohibited goods and other charges.

He was refused bail and will appear in Burwood Local Court.
