Two novelty items have been pulled from sale over safety fears in the lead-up to Christmas.
One, a boxed game sold through online vendor Booktopia, is Jishaku: The Game of Magnetic Action.
The box includes a foam playing surface and small black magnets – which, Product Safety Australia said in its recall notice, do not comply with the permanent ban on small, high-powered magnets.
There is a “risk of serious internal injuries or death if a child swallows more than one high-powered magnet as they stick together in the child’s intestine or other digestive tissue”, as well as a risk of injury or death from choking.
People are urged to stop using the game immediately and keep it out of reach of children. They should contact Booktopia on 1300 187 187 or on email at customersupport@booktopia.com.au, for a refund and further instructions.
The bucket contains two CR1220 lithium button batteries, and Product Safety said the bucket did not comply with the standards for products with button batteries.
“The product has not been tested for compliance with the safety standards,” the recall notice said.
“The button/coin batteries may not adequately secure and may be accessible by young children.”

Additionally, the bucket does not come with the required warning information.
Young children risk choking, severe internal burn injuries, or death if they swallow the batteries or put them inside their body.
Severe and even fatal injuries can happen in two hours or less.
Owners are urged to post the product back to Treat Me at PO Box 14, Highbury, South Australia 5089, for a full refund – including a refund on the postage.
