Meg O’Neill, CEO of oil and gas giant Woodside, earned $7.45 million in reported pay in the last year.

O’Neill is one of two women and one of six mining company executives in the top 20 most well-paid Australian CEOs.

Reported pay describes statutory pay reported in a company’s annual report, and doesn’t include the two-thirds of an executive’s compensation that is “at risk”, contingent on meeting performance benchmarks over several years.

This means that CEOs’ reported pay can be far lower – or higher – than their actual pay per year.
