Travelling to another country always comes with risk – but tourists always want to what they are.
To ease your fears about any trips planned next year, US travel insurance company Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection has surveyed travellers to find the safest countries in the world.
The company has been polling travellers since 2016 and reveals the list every year.
It looked at factors including crime rates, safety for female or LGBTIQ+ travellers, transport systems and the level of healthcare it offers tourists.
There are 15 countries spanning several continents on the list.
