Up to $18million worth of meth and cocaine bricks were allegedly discovered in the car doors

A man has been charged after $18million worth of meth and cocaine bricks were allegedly discovered stashed inside the doors of his Toyota Corolla.

The 26-year-old man was pulled over by cops as he tried to cross the border into Melbourne from Gundagai in southeastern NSW at 9.40am on Tuesday.

Officers allegedly found 25kg of methylamphetamine and 10kg of cocaine hidden inside the cavities of the front and passenger doors.

On further inspection of the bricks, some were found covered in photos of Russian President Vladimir Putin sitting at a desk inside the Kremlin.

The man was arrested and taken to Gundagai Police Station where he was charged with two counts of supplying a large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug.

He was also charged with being in possession of a DECCD (dedicated encrypted criminal communication device) to commit serious criminal activity.

The man was refused bail and faced Young Local Court on Wednesday.

Investigations into the matter remain ongoing.
