Netflix targeting ESPN’s Mina Kimes for role in Christmas NFL doubleheader

Netflix continues to make its wish list for its Christmas NFL extravaganza.

The streaming service juggernaut is targeting ESPN NFL analyst Mina Kimes for a role in its studio show for the Christmas Day doubleheader, The Post has learned.

While a deal hasn’t been finalized, a source said ESPN would give Kimes the network’s blessing if it’s something that she ultimately wants to do.

Spokespeople for ESPN and Netflix declined to comment to The Post.

In addition to a number of other roles for the network, Kimes is an analyst on ESPN’s popular “NFL Live” program.

Netflix has gotten a fortunate draw for its doubleheader, as Chiefs vs. Steelers features two of the top three seeds in the AFC, while Ravens vs. Texans is a game with two teams that would also make the playoffs if the season ended today.

With the Chiefs, there is the star power with Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and coach Andy Reid as two-time defending Super Bowl champions, plus the added potential of the Taylor Swift factor.

The Post previously reported that Netflix is targeting Kay Adams to host studio coverage of the doubleheader.

The Post also broke the news that Netflix targeted Tom Brady to be the color commentator for one of the games, but the request was blocked by Fox Sports.

Netflix then set its sights on Ian Eagle, Noah Eagle, Greg Olsen and Nate Burleson.

The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand reported that deals with those four announcers got finalized and that former Texans star and current CBS Sports studio analyst J.J. Watt will also be a color commentator for one of the games.

CBS is producing the games for Netflix.
