Police have launched a homicide investigation after the body of a man was found in a south-east Queensland home overnight.

Emergency services were called to the property at Lillian Street in Redbank Plains, Ipswich, about 8.40pm yesterday when the man was discovered unresponsive.

Paramedics declared him dead at the scene.

Police established a crime scene.

A 48-year-old man is helping officers with their inquiries.

Investigations into the man’s death are ongoing.
