A 51-year-old man has died after falling from a boat during a water skiing incident on the Murray River.

Emergency services were called to Perricoota Waters in Moama, near the NSW/Victoria border about 7.25pm yesterday after the man was pulled from the water.

The 51-year-old man was pulled from the water and treated by paramedics but died at the scene.

The water skier was uninjured.

Police have established a crime scene and are investigating the incident.

Officers will prepare a report for the information of the coroner.
