An urgent recall has been issued for the Ayonz dual screen portable DVD player being sold in JB Hi-Fi stores across Australia.

Product Safety Australia warned the battery may overheat and catch fire, causing a risk of serious injury, death and property damage.

"An incident has occurred," the authority said.

An urgent recall has been issued for the Ayonz dual screen portable DVD player being sold in JB Hi-Fi stores across Australia.

The DVD player with serial numbers AGL37790001 to AGL37791000 was sold in JB Hi-Fi stores from January 1 this year to October 7.

Anyone who bought the product is urged to stop using it immediately and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
