A motorcyclist has died after a late-night crash at a speedway track in Adelaide’s north-west.

Emergency services were called to the Gillman Speedway at Wingfield about 10.15pm yesterday following a crash at a motorsport event.

A 42-year-old man from Christie Downs suffered serious injuries in the crash and was rushed to hospital.

He died in hospital this morning.

Police are preparing a report for the State Coroner following the incident.

The event was the first night of the summer series of the 28th season at the Adelaide venue.
