The tenth day of testimony resumes Tuesday in the case surrounding the 2017 murders of two Delphi girls and their accused killer, Richard Allen.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Libby German, 14, and Abby Williams, 13, were walking on the Monon High Bridge in Carroll Coubty when they were stabbed and left in the woods on February 13, 2017.
Allen, arrested five years later in 2022, has pleaded not guilty to the murder charges.
ABC News reports that Maj. Pat Cicero of the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department testified on Monday. He was not at the crime scene in 2017 but reviewed photos and reports related to the case.
Cicero testified that blood stains on the tree indicated the attack on Libby began there, with spatter likely from weapon swipes.
He added that Libby died against the tree in a pool of blood and was then dragged about 20 feet.
Cicero then pointed out blood pools soaking into the ground, stains beneath Libby’s leg, and patterns on her body. He observed a mixture of water and blood on her face, implying it could be a tear, suggesting she might have been crying.
Cicero testified thet Abby likely was restrained or unconscious when she died, noting the lack of blood on her hands and arms and that her hands were raised vertically.
“It looks like she was boxing,” he said.
He called Abby’s body position very unusual, saying, “I’ve never seen anything like it at a crime scene.”
