Carlos Rodon crumbles early as Dodgers tag Yankees starter in Game 2

LOS ANGELES – The bad Carlos Rodon showed up at Dodger Stadium Saturday night.

With the Yankees in need of a big outing, Rodon imploded.

He yielded three home runs in the second and third innings, and put the Yankees in a 4-1 hole.

Rodon struck out Max Muncy to record the first out in the fourth inning before Aaron Boone yanked him from the game in favor of righty reliever Jake Cousins.

Tommy Edman continued his big postseason with a solo homer in the second and Teoscar Hernandez and Freddie Freeman went back-to-back in the third.

Rodon was fortunate to get out of the inning.

After Edman doubled, Kike Hernandez lined out hard to Alex Verdugo in left field.

Teoscar Hernandez and Freeman both turned around high fastball that got way too much of the plate.

Juan Soto had pulled the Yankees even at a run apiece in the top of the third with a solo homer, but Rodon failed to deliver a shutdown inning in the bottom half of the inning.
