Hackers have allegedly stolen hundreds of thousands of Australian shoppers’ personal information in the country’s latest data breach.
digiDirect was allegedly attacked by hackers who listed the private information of 304,000 people onto the dark web in late September.
A hacker going by ‘Tanaka’ allegedly posted the information into a forum used by other criminals, reports The Register.
They claimed to have stolen a database containing customers’ full names, email addresses, phone numbers, billing and shipping addresses, and company names.
These claims have have yet to be verified but Tanaka posted a sample of the stolen data alongside a special ‘thanks to Chucky’.
This is the latest in a string of major hacks that have led to the personal information of millions of Australians in 2024.
In September 40,000 Total tools customers had their data leaked and 12.9million MediSecure users suffered the same fate in July.

digiDirect and, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner and the Australian Federal Police have been contacted by Daily Mail Australia for comment over the latest alleged hack.
