Dashcam video captured alleged insurance scammers crashing into a motorist on Queens’ Belt Parkway in New York and seemingly faking injuries before spotting the camera.

According to the New York Post, Ashpia Natasha was driving on the parkway at 11 a.m. Wednesday when a silver Honda Accord cut her off from the center lane and abruptly braked.

Footage posted on TikTok showed the wreck.

“Oh my God, what is he doing,” Natasha was heard yelling.

Times Now News reports that a red Kia, which had been following Natasha, stopped next to the crash, picked up the suspected male driver, and quickly left the scene.

Natasha reportedly stopped in time, but the Civic reversed into her car moments later. The footage captured her as she called for help.

Four people got out of the Civic, allegedly pretending to be injured. Natasha saw the male driver, wearing a hat, switch seats with a female passenger shortly after the crash.

The drivers fled immediately after exchanging insurance information with Natasha, before she realized it was a “set up.”

Natasha said she later learned that NYPD does not respond to crashes unless both parties remain at the scene.

“I believe the intention was to say I hit their car for insurance fraud purposes,” Natasha later said.

“They only came out of the car with their phones ready to record the damage to both cars. They were quick to ask for my insurance and quickly left after the exchange.”

The Post reports that the New York State Motor Vehicle Theft and Insurance Fraud Prevention Board reported 24,238 suspected insurance fraud cases, with over 18,000 involving no-fault claims—a 23 percent increase since 2019.
