‘That wasn’t a kid that was shooting at me’: Man who was 15 when he killed a mother in front of her 2-year-old daughter learns his fate

A 19-year-old New Mexico man who was 15 when he murdered a mother in front of her 2-year-old daughter, killed a second woman and wounded a man in a robbery has learned his fate.

Josef Toney was sentenced to 45 years in prison with probation possible after 38 years in the deaths of Aerial Mallam, 21, and Jessica Casaus Lucero, 31, Bernalillo County District Attorney Sam Bregman announced in a press release.
