Ex-‘Hamilton’ Dancer Missing Days After SOS Alert Received From Phone

South Carolina police made a public plea on Wednesday for information in the case of a man who has been missing for nearly two weeks.

Zelig Williams, 28, was last seen leaving his Richland County home on October 3. A witness reported seeing Williams at the Palmetto Trail Trailhead on the afternoon of his disappearance, according to WACH.

The trail — which is 30 miles away from Williams’ home — was also where his car was found a day after he was last seen. His belongings were reportedly located inside the vehicle.

Williams’ family claimed that on the morning he vanished, they got an SOS ping from his phone from one of his friends in New York. The alert indicated a crash had occurred, but police said his car had no evidence of being in an accident.

Williams recently returned home after performing on Broadway and was slated to teach a dance class sometime this month.

WACH reported that another search was conducted on Monday, a day before Richland County police and Williams’ family urged the public to come forward with leads.

“I just want Zelig to come home,” his mother said at Tuesday’s press conference. “He’s all I got, he’s all I got.”

Private Investigator Chandra Cleveland, of SHE-Private Investigations said on Tuesday that Williams’ family hired her to assist in the ongoing search.

“It is unclear where Zelig was headed the morning he disappeared, and the family is eager to speak with anyone who may have seen or spoken with him around that time,” Cleveland said in a statement issued to WIS-TV.

Williams was reportedly last seen wearing a white t-shirt, black pants, and brown slides. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call the Richland County Sheriff’s Department at 803-576-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CrimeSC.
